Hygiene and medicine
(in addition to your standard washbag)
toilet roll
face wipes
soap
suncream and sun protection for your lips, depending on your skin type; the sun’s intensity corresponds to that in the mountains or on the beach
personal medication
the following medicines could prove useful: charcoal tablets (to combat upset stomachs), Immodium (anti-diarrhea) and Motilium (anti-nausea), an analgesic like Ibuprofen, eye-drops, bite-cream. (Consult your doctor for more detailed advice)
Clothes
roomy, long-sleeved comfortable clothes, like cotton trousers and shirts; the dry climate means clothes stay fresh for longer, so you don’t need to bring many clothes; bare arms and legs are to be avoided since they speed up dehydration and, in the case of women, in order to show respect to local culture
thermal underwear (perfect for evenings and to sleep in) - optional
